Food Facts-Alzheimer’s Disease
Alzheimer’s disease has been associated with some specific foods in terms of their preventive as well risk-benefit ratio.
It has been studied that people suffering from Alzheimer’s disease as well as those at risk of it can benefit with the consumption of following food and food products :
* Lean meat, fish, poultry, or dairy products for vitamin B12.

* Leafy green vegetables, orange juice, liver, cooked beans and lentils, corn, asparagus,peas, nuts, enriched breads and cereals for folate.
* Lean meat, fish, poultry, or dairy products for vitamin B12.
* Meat, fish, poultry, whole grains, beans, lentils, avocados, nuts, potatoes, bananas, and leafy greens for vitamin B6.
* Fatty fish such as salmon, mackerel, herring, and sardines for the omega-3 fatty acids.
* Eggs, liver, soybeans and soy products, whole grains, brewer’s yeast, and wheat germ-all reasonably good sources of lecithin and choline.
It has also been postulated to avoid certain kind of food and food products that can prove harmful in either exaggerating its course or causing early onset of disease. These include:
* Antacids with aluminum.
* Using cooking utensils made of aluminum.

Very good list. Guess the new item on my fridge!
The foods on it seem to be the same that pretty much everyone should ingest. (to be healthy) Just another reason why eating healthy isn’t just to prevent heart disease
