Bowel Diseases-Less Frequent in Vegetarians
pre-historic times, we were all used to eat vegetable matter, and our digestive system was more adapted to it, until man started hunting for the animal food too. However, our digestive system had always responded to vegetable matter more as compared to the animal products. Take an example, we can not take most of the animal products in raw form and need to cook them before consuming them, however, we can eat many of the raw vegetables easily. Various fruit, vegetables, pulses, legumes, and nuts provide us the essential fibers, which we need to digest what we eat. Most of the Western countries use highly processes and refined flour and sugar as well as processed animal products, which are laden with hormones and antibiotics. These food materials are actually harmful for our digestive system in the long run.
When our digestive system does not work in its usual way, we can develop opportunistic diseases as well as there can happen changes in our genetic material (DNA) of stomach and colon (Large Intestine) cells. In addition, we do not get enough fibers from such diets, resulting in a number of digestion related problems, such as constipation that can further lead to hemorrhoids as a result of excessive straining while defecating. These diseases and problems are less frequent in people who eat vegetarian diet.
Other disease conditions that are less commonly seen in vegetarian people are irritable bowel syndrome (IBD) and ulcerative colitis. These diseases result because of the lower fiber content in diet. Vegetarian diet being rich in fiber content, prevents their occurrence altogether. It also increases the risk for colon carcinoma later on.
When you compare the risks and benefits of a vegetarian diet as compared to a non-vegetarian diet, do you think a burger or bacon or a steak are that beneficial for us to eat regularly? Don’t you think, the proportion of such diets in our daily diet schedule should be reduced? In other words, if you can not stop meat altogether, you should at least try to decreases its consumption. Increasing vegetarian diet in your daily diet schedule will increase your chances of enjoying your health till late without worrying for the contraction of diseases associated with non-vegetarian diet. Therefore, the decision is all yours.

When you eat meat you’re eating all of the bad stuff the animal ate. You’re ingesting microbes, hormones, and other nasty stuff!
