Due to body warming clothes, the sweat glands secrete the regular amount of sweat and this leads to clogging of skin pores. Later on, it results in acne breakout all over the body. Apart from warm clothing, tight fitting clothes can also cause body acne. Tight fitting clothing actually acts to trap the sweat against the natural pores, which leads to their clogging and blemishes. Excessive stress and hormonal imbalance can also lead to body acne just as they lead to acne on face. Most common area of our body that develops body acne is chest. In some individuals, back is involved more commonly than chest.
There are some tips that you can use to get rid of body acne.
1. You should take bath daily and wash your body with cleanser containing salicylic acid. To check it purchase the cleanser that has salicylic acid in its ingredients as it is not commonly mentioned on some packing.
2. If you play sports, work out in sun most of the day, or just remain in sun enough to get sweat, you should take shower bath after any such activity. Shower acts as a natural blood pressure controller too due to the pressure of water pouring on your body in the form of drops. After shower, apply a body moisturizer containing alpha-hydroxy acid. Alpha hydroxy acid acts to exfoliate skin and aids in preventing any acne breakouts without causing dryness.
3. Before going to bed, make sure to apply anti-acne gel or creams that you use for facial acne. It will also act to heal them the same way as it does on face.
4. Tight fitting clothing can aggravate body acne because body is unable to get enough air circulation. In any case, such clothing should be avoided. If possible, try wearing loose shirts, and cotton undergarments.
5. If your problem worsens over a month or so, you should immediately seek your dermatologist’s help.
