How these natural oils work for treating acne?
These oils act to seal off the pores and help in retaining the natural moisturizer of your skin. Due to this action, they help in enhancing the effect of anti-acne creams. Sealing of pores prevents their clogging due to pollution or dead skin cells.
1. Tree Tea Oil
Add 5 to 10 drops of tree tea oil to a small container (2-3 ounces). After that, add the anti-acne cream in this to make a lotion. Do not add more than 15 drops of tree tea oil, as it will result in excessive dilution of the cream.
Tree tea oil has antiseptic, antifungal, and antibacterial properties. It helps to oxygenate to the skin properly. This action aids in killing bacteria and fungi that can hinder the skin repair on a skin with acne.
2. Borage Oil
Borage oil has EPA and DHA. These natural chemicals help to control excessive activity of hormones responsible for causing excessive sebum production. You can use Borage oil to increase your anti-acne cream’s clearing properties.
Mix 1 or two capsules of Borage oil with your cream and apply it daily before going to bed.
3. Neptune Krill Oil (NKO)
Neptune Krill Oil is a newer EPA and DHA product and it may be more effective than the use of Borage oil depending upon your skin’s sensitivity to it. It contains the omega-3, EPA and DHA in the basic phospholipids form. This form is easily absorbed into your skin cells as compared to the Borage oil, which contains the same chemical constituents in triglyceride form. Triglyceride form is difficult to penetrate the skin cells when compared to the phospholipids form.
All the oils should be kept in cool places and used only when needed. Borage oil needs refrigeration for storage.
Precautions and Cautions: If you ever get redness, swelling, or rash on the skin with the use of these oils, it is advised to discontinue their use.
